UFC’s Anthony Pettis says he’s going to fight for UFC title after losing UFC lightweight title to Josh Barnett

The UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettiz says he’ll make the same title defense against Josh Barnett if he loses the heavyweight title to the undefeated Josh Barnett.

In a recent interview with ESPN’s Ariel Helwani, Pettiz said he wants Barnett to win again and is confident he can get there if he makes the same mistake twice.

Barnett won the title from Daniel Cormier in February and had a dominant run that included the second round knockout of former title challenger Josh Koscheck.

Pettiz (10-2) is coming off a decision loss to Rashad Evans in July.

Barnett is coming into his UFC debut on the heels of a split decision loss in his UFC title fight with Chris Weidman in May.
